Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) Uninstallation Procedure in Windows*Category:Article ID:000101256Environment:Intel® VROC for Windows*Date:5/20/25 Uninstalling the Intel® VROC RAID driver could potentially cause an end-user to lose access to important data within a RAID volume. This is because the driver can only provide functionality for the RAID controller (Intel® Volume Management Device (Intel® VMD) or SATA controllers). Therefore, Intel does not provide a way to permanently remove the driver from the system. However, disabling the RAID controller causes the operating system not to use the RAID driver. The uninstall application that is included with the Intel® VROC software can remove all components except the RAID driver (so it removes the Intel® VROC Graphical User Interface (GUI) application, Start Menu links, Control Panel applet, and so on). Use the following procedures to remove the Intel® VROC software or to disable the RAID controller. Uninstalling the Intel® VROC Software (Except the RAID Driver)
Disabling the RAID Driver by Disabling the RAID ControllerNote If this method is used and the computer’s operating system is installed to a disk attached to the RAID controller, the user will no longer be able to boot into that operating system.
End-users can use this same procedure to disable the Intel® VROC controller(s) if necessary.
