New Features Introduced with the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) 7.0 Release for Windows*Category:Article ID:000099923Environment:Intel® VROC for Windows*Date:5/6/25 The following information lists the new features introduced with the Intel® VROC 7.0 release for Windows*. To learn about the latest updates of Intel® VROC for Windows*, refer to the Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) Release Notes for Windows*. Removal of AHCI Mode SupportWith the release of Intel® VROC 7.0, the package will no longer include drivers to support the Platform Controller Hub (PCH) configured for AHCI mode. All support for this configuration will be via the Microsoft* inbox AHCI driver.
Removal of Legacy Option ROM SupportWith the release of Intel® VROC 7.0, the package will no longer include the Intel® VROC (SATA RAID) Legacy Option ROM Pre-OS components. All Pre-OS support for Intel® VROC (SATA RAID) will only be through the UEFI environment. If Intel® VROC (SATA RAID) support through the Legacy Option ROM environment is required, continue using the Intel® VROC 6.3 release package. Removal of Windows 7* SupportWith the release of Intel® VROC 7.0, the package will no longer include support for Windows 7*. All components and support for Windows 7 (Windows drivers and Pre-OS components) have been removed. If Windows 7 support is required, continue using the Intel® VROC 6.3 release package.
