Article ID:0000996749/26/24
Description
Looking for the RAID option ROM version and middleware terminologies on the Intel VROC System report.
Resolution
The Intel® VROC software package has several components, which may all have different versions. These components are reported in the System Report from the Intel® VROC GUI in Windows*.
The entries for RAID option ROM version and Middleware version refer to:
- RAID option ROM version: This is the Intel® VROC Pre-OS driver version in the BIOS.
- Middleware version: The middleware is the I/O interface that implements the Standard Storage Interface (SSI) to communicate with the Intel® VROC drivers. Starting from Intel® VROC 8.0, the middleware is built together with the user interface ensuring that its version will always match the user interface version. In earlier releases, it was possible to build the middleware separately; that is the reason why both versions, the middleware version and the user interface version, are displayed.
