Description

When trying to upload an activated Intel® VROC license, the following or a similar error is displayed in the BMC: Key Update Failed.

See below for potential reasons for this error message and how to resolve it:

Note

Make sure that the BIOS/FW components are all up to date before proceeding: M50FCP, D50DNP.

  • Utilize the license that can be downloaded from https://servertools.intel.com/registration after activation (Intel login required). Do not use the license file that is contained in the email confirming the activation.
    • There is currently a known issue with the email notification being investigated, which affects the license attached to the email, resulting in an error in the BMC.
  • Confirm the license was properly activated on the Servertools site using the Main Board Serial Number.
